430 Jobs and a Troubled History, but Nothing's Been Done to Date

Is this a data harvesting campaign in disguise?

blog cover image

430 “jobs” at the time of this post. All of them appear to be part of a data harvesting campaign for a site that’s operated since 2014. The Case Concerning Talentify.io, Pt. 2…

• HR Assistant - Remote

• Marketing Specialist?

• Online Marketing Specialist?

• Online Data Entry Work?

• Virtual Assistant?

• Senior Customer Service Representative?

And they go on.

Every one of them leads to a landing page using Comic Sans font and on this page are several opportunities to click links, but these links aren’t to be trusted.

Here’s the best part… The pay for many of them? “Competitive.” 😑

If I had $430.00 dollars but those dollars looked counterfeit and I said to get this money all you have to do is “compete.”

What would your first question be? Glad you asked.

“Compete in what?”

This is what happens when companies don’t list the salary but call it “competitive.” It leaves job seekers in the dark and if you’re a legitimate company, it makes you look illegitimate.

The “HR Assistant – Remote” role is gatekept by first giving your email. Then you’re taken to another page where you then confirm your information, then proceed to the application.

The problem is (in this example) Alliance Services, Inc., does not have this job on its website. It also isn’t on its page on LinkedIn.

What deceptive job boards do is copy real job descriptions from real jobs and go as far as including the source of the job to further legitimize the listing.

Justin Thomas AKA The Job Father wrote a post about this, tagged LinkedIn and a person in the comments tagged the CEO of Talentify, Othamar Gama Filho. No response from either party.

Four months ago, I was tagged several times in the post to investigate.

I found proof those “jobs” then led nowhere. The jobs came down.

These 430 jobs are suspicious.

Thousands of people complained about this company.

It's not for no reason.

Story developing…
